The Wheat from the Chaff
Hear the wind of unrighteousness howl
But fear it not within
For the chaff rise up at its blowing
Looking upon themselves as greater
Knowing not they scatter away
By their very own pride made so
But the wheat has weight and merit
Feeding nations, tribes and tongues
Serving life and spirit and growth
Falling back into the basket of worth
Free and unbound to the wicked
By their humility made so
Behold the time is now
Where friend rises up against friend
And neighbor against neighbor
And brother departs from brother
As one fills their lamp with oil
And another fills their heart with stone
Now we see the separation before us
As the Master cleans his harvest
For we were planted with love
And rose together with care
Unaware of the infiltration of weeds
Masquerading as our fellows
And those who are disheartened
Will be they who truly did love
As their brothers were brothers
Lost now to the master of blindness
For the chaff has love only of self
And know not that it is actually fear
Let us remember
That God planted both
For all things are Gods
And not one thing of God is vain
They who fall to pride are as instruction
And wisdom is found in consideration
Thus do we pray for the wheat
Thus we pray also for the chaff
As those of God sorrow for their brother
And he sorrowed for is loved
And who better to pray for?
As the chaff had their spirit scattered
This is the honor of God
That we remember they who are lost
Tho they wound and punish as men
They know not what they do
As all are of one blood in Christ
Made so by the will of our Father
Cry for our brothers who cry not for us
Pray that they be awakened!
For if they found what we have found
They would know love as we know love
If they would be opened in heart
Their return would we welcome with joy
When deeply troubled before the world
And our own faith becomes weak
Reach out to help another
Instead of seeking help ourselves
For the love of one to another
Heals both and restores our faith
Let us remember always
It is God who commands the wind
And God who directs it so
All things are in His hand
Not one is without His knowledge
All matters are for His purpose
As we could not see the chaff before
Must we also now keep faith
That our future is still with God
As also that of our brothers
So long as we endure the time
God will always secure his Wheat
