Kingdom of Man, Kingdom of God
On shaken ground
The world recoils
To drown the sabres rattle
In fire and force
The world is aghast
To witness the wages of war
Who but our God may we trust
When men droll in double speak
And armies raise their flag?
Who but our God may we plead
When men turn an ear to their own will
And the populous pays the price?
As in the days of Adam
Now too is brother against brother
By force of self righteousness is it so
As in the days of Noah
Now too is the flood of rule drowning
Both innocent and wicked alike
As in the days of Lot
Now too are sons being sacrificed
At the command of those in desire
As in the days of Abraham
Now too is the seed scattered
Waiting on faith to be fulfilled
As in the days of Moses
Now too are the people enslaved
Crying out to be rescued
As in the days of David
Now too are kings chasing kings
With wrath for their own protection
As in the days of Malachi
Now too are the leaders doubting
When shall the end begin!
As it was in the days of old
So shall it be again in the end days
And as it is – shall we witness
But the end is as a new beginning
And the beginning is as an new end
For those who wait upon God
As they who have been doing God’s work
Rest faith upon their blessings
Paid the wage of work from the start
Yet fear not all you who enter late
Rest faith upon the awakening
For the wage of life is the same for all
Let us stay close to God’s spirit
Let us perform His will for us
Let us open doors to all who seek peace
There in the midst of the Kingdom
See the garden of life is beautiful
And the river of life is profound
There in the Hand of God
See the safety of love is spiritual
And the ways of love are everlasting
They who trusted God from the start
Wait upon those who have not chosen
That we may all enter in together
And while the world reflects on war
Do we of God reflect on peace
And the offering of it is wisdom
As the world contemplates fear
Do we contemplate faith
As spirit is greater than flesh
As in the days of Jesus Christ
Now too is salvation still free
For His gift is the Kingdom of God
