Barren Tree
Only when the bear sleeps
May the spirit soar to its life
It is said that in the moon of the barren tree
The ancient dragon will reveal in the cold
He only flies when there is no heart like him
The Bear heeds not the dragon
Nor fears his fire and wrath
Neither does he forget his enemy
The two forever are in bondage together
Though greater and older
Yet the dragon does fear the bear
Who can hear what is said
Or take understanding?
Barren is our moon
As what was of old
Has been even ’til now
Always the same
That to stand before the dragon is a mighty war
And to stand before the bear is a mighty destruction
The dragon hides his fire and will
As the bear huffs and roars in search of him
Hear the heart of the man who does listen
In himself is the Bear he has become
Hear the sound of the dragons heart
As the dragon is the enemy who bore him
Lest in darkness does the child of darkness remain
Where the dragon always masters our will
Lest we dangle the forest we believe to be home
Would our snarls be forever futility
It is only when the bear sleeps
That the man becomes spirit
