Another Time

Primordial CreationThe poem reflects on a time when the earth was in its earliest form, with mud huts, mountains, and waves. The simplicity of this early world suggests a connection to the very beginning of existence and creation.

Cosmic Journey and ExpansionThe narrator transcends the earthly realm, flying beyond the work of creation and into the stars, which hints at a spiritual or metaphysical journey. There’s a sense of exploration and returning to the heart of existence—“the center of it all.”

Simplicity and DesignThe imagery of mud huts, benches, and trees suggests a grounded, simple, and deliberate design to life. The humble creation of the world contrasts with the vastness of the stars and the sky, emphasizing a harmony between simplicity and grandeur.

Eternal ConnectionThe mention of "Just you and I" highlights a timeless bond shared between the narrator and another soul, perhaps a soulmate or divine being. This connection seems to exist before all things and remains central to the experience of creation and life.

Timelessness and MemoryThe poem touches on timelessness, with memories of this “other time” when everything was forming. There’s a nostalgia for an ancient moment, a glimpse into something far beyond the current world, but deeply intimate and personal.

Another Time

Then there was the time
when the earth was as mud
with mud huts and benches
and plumes of mud going into the ground

Simple trees of evergreen
placed on the bench
arranged and formed
designed

Water waves in a far off place
the other side of here
Beyond the new formed mountains
with bolts in the Sky

Then there I flew
up off the surface
beyond the place you worked
and smiled as I went

Into the sky
amidst the stars
they soared on by
returning me to the center
of it all

Just you and I
before everyone else
before everything
together in the making
