Testament
Greater are they full of fear
When released from it
Than they who knew no fear
Greater are they full of torment
When released from it
Than they who knew no torment
Greater are they in utter hell
When released from hell
Than they who never knew hell at all
Greater are they who are dead
When released from death
Than they who never knew death at all
For all releasing and unbinding and liberty
Come from God’s own hand and desire
While all terror and anger and wrath
Come from the enemy of life itself
And who can stand
As a testament of the greatness of Life
Better than He
Who once knew death intimately?
Who can stand
As a testament of the wonder of love
Better than he
Who once knew abject isolation?
The mouths of pride
Speak wildly of their righteousness
But He who is humble in his unrighteousness
Is given the righteousness of God to behold
The mouths of darkness
Speak wildly of their judgement
But He who is humble in his will
Is given the revelation of God’s acceptance
The mouths of bitterness
Speak wildly of their victimization
But he who is humble in his experience
Finds treasure in his path
For in his release from hell by God
Comes the authority to his word of life
As Life, which is God, dwells within him
Shown to his own eyes, was the way
Can two trapped in darkness
lead each other out of darkness?
Or rather he released from darkness
more able to reveal the way?
Truly the sons of light
Were not made for darkness
Nor do they know the way in or out
But of the heavens do they express
Truly the sons of darkness
Were not made for darkness
Yet they know the way in with experience
And they know the way out with God’s help
Blessed are they who have always known
Faith and peace and joy and life
For theirs is the reflection of God
That we all may witness God’s hope
Blessed are they who have been released
From fear and torment and hell and death
For theirs is the very heart of God
That we all may witness God’s power & love.
