The filling of my flesh
Brought peace for a time
In joy and revelry played
With friends and laughter
And goodness to share
The passing of time took away
The quietness of my emotions
Brought peace for a time
With calm and patience restored
In spaces of beauty and awe
And passion to share
The passing of time took away
The education of my mind
Brought peace for a time
With knowledge and ideas galore
In seeking and learning in wonder
And concepts to test
The passing of time took away
So I asked of myself
What is there to do?
For all things come and go quickly
To silence I fell in this limited view
More questions than answers reveal
Less wisdom and faith did present
So I asked of God
What is there to do?
For nothing means anything here!
To spirit He said
Is where I must dwell
And there will new answers heal
The awakening of my spirit
Brings peace every time
Of a new peace beyond all measure
Greater than man and better than I
Incomprehensible to our wisdom
The passing of time adds more!
The peace of the flesh
Is truly wonderful to know
Marked by moments and love
Shared together in life
Tho it can’t recreate
For it was set in one time
Meant for then
That we would know rest

Is greater than all others
Present any moment we seek it
Reaching flesh, heart and soul
