Life Upon Life
Difficult is the way
And fearful is the journey
When the life of flesh
Is all that can be considered
For we are here as men a short time
Raptured with the tasks of man
That we would build a life
And succeed before death to prosper
Of such a design
All manner of law must be made
For if we are only here for a blink
And buried in a short time
Our duty as men requires lawlessness
As they who rule set the stage
For themselves alone
That they who labor must overcome
Being that the law is made
By those in power to keep power
The common man must endure
All manner of wickedness
In order to succeed in their rule
For the law of wickedness
Only rewards the wicked
Do you see before us a righteous world?
Do you see before you corruption?
Therefore in order to fully grasp
Spiritual life and spiritual awakening
A deeper faith and idea presents
This concept of the eternal spirit
Or everlasting life
Or life after death
Known to some as The Kingdom of God
If we consider the idea of eternal life
Then does our striving become clearer
Instead of having to win as men
We can learn as men while here
Instead of judging ourselves
Based on worldly success
We can chart our coarse
Of growth and understanding
What can be taken from an eternal?
What deception stands forever?
Who can end more than your body?
And there within the foundation
Of all the conceptions of eternity
Do all men’s laws become earthen
Nor are they of any threat
For no spirit of life rails against life
Nor is a true spiritual man
Set against another, but for him
Thus already speaking well
And acting in good faith
Towards all of mankind in peace
Even though their brothers do abuse
As those who believe
In the Kingdom of God
Know also that all here are brothers
Whereas many unbelievers now
Will be believers then and forever
Upon the appearance of truth
Either by the will of God
Or at the return of our God
Or at the resurrection
Into the millennium
Where all who lived shall know truth
As it is a bit of irony
That those who seek the Kingdom
And who trust eternal life
Obey the laws of men
With greater authority
Than do the men of flesh
Who seek to rule now
For the law of life is love
Within love is all goodness
Peace, kindness, support, forgiveness
Understanding, acceptance, grace
Hope, strength, courage and joy
And every good thing imaginable
Turning then this world
Into a classroom of learning love
Rather than a battleground
Of men ruling men for gain
And what a great thing it is
For we shake off the fears of man
Knowing this time of trouble is short
And our worldly success means little
But the success of the spirit
One brother to another
That offers a hand to he who fell
Or offers comfort to they in need
Presenting always peaceful desire
Makes friends of enemies
And is of no worry to the world
But instead seen by man as love
For it is God’s love expressed
Knowing then within that
These matters overrule trinkets
And being burdened by earth life
Are many not afraid
To enter into the next life
That is without such darkness
For that eternal life
Is with God who showed us love
And that love is what is eternal
As love despises no life, but death
So too is there no law against peace
Neither can he who gives love
Be convicted by men
For they who hate love, hate life
And have convicted themselves
Believing they are just
For they think with the flesh
Which demands they conquer
Rather than to build and join
Together in prosperous peace
God showed us the way
To eternal life and the Kingdom
And to each who lives now
Are we already in the way
Of seeking love and desiring life
For the spirit of God
Dwells in the house of His children
