Embrace my spirit You who are Great
Forget not where I strive and endure
For the face of my life is turned away
And my heart rests not in the darkness
How long shall the suffering of the innocent be
And the isolation of our life go unanswered?
For not one can see the works of their hands
Nor are their lips silent of torment
How long shall the young question their hope
And the very young know not their worth?
For the world delights in agony and jealousy
Measuring all things against their Creator
How long shall the hardened heart revel in cursing?
See how drunk they are on their bitterness and wrath!
For the arrogant heart defiles their own life
Building monuments to their defiance of God
Raise this spirit into the heavens
Hold tight the temple where it is housed
Bring an end to sorrow and lies
And the path of death strike from existence
As there is no place that is home
In all the world
Nor in any corner of it
Does one find another who sees them
For who can see God while looking for self?
Or when seeking, know what they desire?
Where is peace to be found on man’s throne of judgment?
Or justice and mercy in the courts of man’s fate?
There is no time for they who wait on God
Nor is any place found for them who seek God
All things they dream are forgotten under the sun
Save the hope in their heart where God lives
My eyes have been filled with horrors
And my ears shattered with blasphemy and lies
My nose is overcome with the stench of sickness
And my flesh cries out in pain of isolation
Away with it all for it cannot be negotiated
Nor is this life given to two Masters
As one has proven the distain of my desire
And the Other is the only Way of Life
For who can endure death, but life?
And who can provide life, but God?
And who can be full amongst thieves?
Or see truth in the shadow of doubt?
Lift up this spirit to its true home
Bring forth all our brethren to their faith
For they endure and hope in the dungeon
Until all things fulfilled are made free
Proclaim Your Spirit to all the world
Set Your Throne for all to find truth
Speak Life that we may live in goodness and grace
Cast away all former hardships
Set Your Spirit in the bones of the suffering
And of the sorrowful heart bring comfort
Let all desire to hear the teachings of Wisdom
And with hope, heal in the presence of Your love
For the witness has made their full account
And of each and every one, all who live do suffer
With patience they have proven their hope
And with earnestness do they believe
So let us sing a new song with the voice of our Life
Let us see with new eyes the works of Life
Let us rejoice together in the Kingdom of Life
and let us now dwell in the House of our Father and God
