Without a Paddle
Let alone there be a time for war
and peace lay by its side
When the days of sunrise call
and midnight sleeps again
Even when a lover feels the touch
and even without those pleasantries
It shall be my understanding is still and quiet.
From who said he said all is underdone
may villages burn again
Throughout the green grass mellow walk
a candle falls and breaks its flame
Oh when it comes again, that I hold out my hand
and rain brings replenishment
It shall be my understanding then, is still and quiet.
Forget me not oh God of mine
who knows all within this heart
Steps too and fro of in between
have mine taken in part for part
It still becomes me even now
to smile upon Your face
If grace be given in all its truth
Your mercy given unto this grace.
And when another looks into my eyes,
it shall be my understanding always, is still and quiet.
