The Scattered and the Faithful
Where is one to carry Your word, my God?
Or another that it would be established?
For the righteous of the earth
Have been wounded in Your Name
And the Wicked call out
Proclaiming You
There in the hearts of those who seek goodness
Has Your Name been erased by abuse
And the Temple of Peace stands alone
In all those without a brother
Whereas the proud do claim to be Your servant
That all Your children would obey their word
Glorifying self with reckless mockery
Enslaving all who hear their blasphemy
Why then are all Your children scattered
That the wind itself know not where they land?
For the faithful have endured beyond their strength
And the humble have carried their chains in grief
That Your people are without their home
Nor another who knows Your True Name
Who has felt Your heart that another has shared?
Or comprehended Your wisdom that another may know it?
As He who has chosen light is pursued by darkness
And He who has chosen life is hounded by death
Yes even those who trust You are questioned mercilessly
Without another to stand with them in Spirit
For the mouth of pride speaks all sorts of flattery
Before the monuments of man’s ego and fear
While the heart spews violence and sorcery
In the hidden chambers of the their true desire
That it should be enough, our God
See, the payment was greater than the debt
As hell itself will not ever be satisfied
Has the ending of it proved just before the Throne
For the beast has taken its bite
And brought blemish to all of Your sheep
See them there in the far away places
Crying out for Your swift rescue
Awaken Your Angels to their order
Send forth the King to Command!
Open the storehouse of Your treasures
And the Comforter to Your children
Bring together the lost who wander
Reveal Your Name to those who love peace
Take back all that has been stolen
And to the dust return all lies
Speak Your Words that they may be heard!
That Your mercy is greater than sacrifice!
As again are we in the land of darkness
And prisoner in the house of bondage!
Send now Your Awakened Spirit, our God
And the hand of Your prosperity pour out
Establish every corner of Your Kingdom
With swift action, restore our souls to You
For who can deny what You desire
Or dwell long in a realm without You?
So set Your desire to erase all vanity
And Your grace to heal and answer with all truth.
