The Burden of Spiritual Darkness The faithful are scattered and suffering under the weight of worldly oppression, yet they seek refuge in God’s strength and truth.

The Peasant’s Prayer
Lift my eyes to truth oh Father
Cast away the shadow of doubt
Embrace me in Your arms my God
Bring peace to the children of men
Ay! The world is darkened deeply
Scrambling are her priests
Wrecked are her leaders
Abandoned are her people to wrath
As kings fall to folly and shame
Placed instead a puppet on their throne
As the world enters a hidden sorrow
Another will rise to rule them all
How shall I witness that face my Lord?
Or challenge their beautiful craft?
For to this dirt I am as nothing
But with You I am one with all
The world has shifted as it was
From our former course we knew
Brought now by ancient words
That Your Will be fulfilled to life
Provide the oil and the lamps
Of they who call Your name
For we are burdened in darkness coil
Brought low by the god of flesh
Hear our cry oh King of Kings
Reach out Your hand of peace
Fortify the spirit of Your children
Protect the innocent with Your love
For the tree is shaken with violence
As the heavens mark the time
Scattered are Your faithful ones
Seeking the Shepherd for safety
And who am I that I should say?
As the dominoes fall one by one
For fear distracts your children away
By design of the dark approaching
But as for You Great Father
Are we rest assured in Life
When Your spirit flows in these bones
All understanding presents in light
I give thanks for your perfect blessing
Of the love You gave to hear my words
I give thanks for eyes to see the storm
That I may run to you for guidance
We cry to you our Lord and God
With names upon our lips
Of they who have fallen behind
That You may take them to Yourself
As many know not any faith
Walking wounded, scared & lost
In darkness asking for Your servants
That they may too find peace in chaos
I give thanks for all You have given
And thanks for all You have promised
For Your Kingdom is before my eyes
And the heart of it is all my hope
Above all and not without faith
May Your Will Be Done always
