Spiritual Awakening
How dark the sky before the dawn
Released to dreams lost hope
To test a man of faith’s sojourn
‘Til wakened comforts lesson learned
Oh God of Gods thy Name is called
Where does that Throne abide?
For if not rested heart affirm
In vain this life of life pass by
But hear an open wound left bare
Presented lost without Your power
For not by vacant careless blight
Awaits the answer to heart’s prayer
Who can fill what Thou has emptied?
Who else could speak a word?
For of this thought is ours alone
My Father, my life, these two are shown
And of Thy offering and of Thy law
That freely has my heart respond
Now await the moment of Your Word
Bring Light from dark Your promised dawn
