Resentment Prayer

The Bondage of Judgment and ViolenceThe piece confronts the deep spiritual imprisonment created by violence, judgment, pride, and bitterness—revealing how such behaviors stem from unhealed wounds and unacknowledged fear.

The Illusion of Self-RighteousnessIt explores the delusion of superiority and the false empowerment of condemnation, showing how these attitudes betray one’s inner fragility and longing for significance.

The True Nature of Freedom and PowerFreedom is redefined not as control or dominance, but as humility, kindness, and love—showing that true warriors are those who build up others even while being torn down.

The Call to Compassion and IntercessionThrough vivid examples, the piece calls readers to recognize the pain in those who harm, and to pray not for revenge, but for healing, grace, and renewal in their lives.

A Transformative Prayer for EnemiesIt concludes with a deeply moving prayer for one’s oppressors, rooted in Christlike love and universal hope—reminding us that only love can restore what hate has tried to destroy.

Resentment Prayer

None who practise violence are free. The world demands we conquer, we rise above others, we are better than others, we judge others, we condemn, we have more than others, we scold, we mock, we ridicule, we shame, we harm, we wound, we take so that we have, we steal so that others do not, we punish those we deemed wrong, we lie, cheat and manipulate to get what we think we deserve, we covet what belongs to another, and we gain more for ourselves than others. And if we fail, do we lie even more as though we have, when we have not, because of shame. And in those ends, do none who do such have anything at all, absolutely nothing, but their own bondage of bitterness. Consumed by jealousy, do they who practise such acts fall into a pit so dark, they cannot see anything at all except their own lie of self righteousness… crying all along how none deserve life, or think right, or do right, but them.

Of the punishing spirit, It is the ruthless prison of ones own delusional belief, born of their desire to matter, to be relevant, to avoid their own perceived insignificance to themselves. Yet it is they who feel so of themselves, which is why they must deny it through harming others. Who needs to belittle another when they have self respect themselves? No one. None who have self respect seek to take another’s respect away. Only they who (deep down) know they are fake, such as those who pray to be seen praying, need to destroy those who are trying to be real. All of this because of the deception of the world.

It is like a person who has ridiculed another daily, publicly and privately, for months on end, themselves whining (ironically) endlessly about the “whining” of another person who hasn’t even spoke to them or addressed their condemnation publicly themselves. There before all people, do all see years of their jabbering curses, condemnation, arrogance, pride, wrath, desire for harm, jealousy, punishment, spiteful words, and insane rationale… yet they themselves believe themselves and present themselves as holy and righteous. It is like a person who was stolen from once, by one person, and then decides to take everything from everyone they can for decades, justifying their lies and cheating to themselves as justice, because they lost… once. What of the thousands of people robbed and cheated by them for years? It is like the man whose child passed away, and then hates all others who have a child that lives. Believing themselves to be wronged because others have a child, rather then facing the sorrow of their loss so that they could still celebrate the life of others. And how can we actually love our lost child while hating others children? For if we cannot accept our losses, we cannot accept others gains. Nor can we love. We punish all others for having a child, secretly hating them, secretly wishing them unwell, when it is us who has failed to face the truth of our own life. All because we have chosen to judge.

This is a truth… ALL have losses, and ALL have pain, and ALL have suffered. But none suffer more inside themselves then those who will not face their loss. And they who do not face their losses dole out greater suffering and punishment and pain to many others outwardly, repeatedly, far beyond the amounts of their own suffering. All the while, wholly blind to it, claiming to be a victim, while they punish 100 people a 1000 times because of their one pain they endured. Pain that they themselves prolong by not healing it because of their desire for retribution. And not one of these has a legitimate claim to their right to wound another fellow human in such a way… because their actual argument is with God.

How is it not plain to see, that when we judge and condemn another person to our choice of wrath, it is US who has had the evil thought? And the evil desire?

All violence in us of heart, mind, body, soul and spirit… ALL of these things are proof of our bondage and loss of freedom and choice. It is a prison one can only escape with honest humility before God and ourselves and our fellows.

There is no greater delusion than self-righteousness.
There is no greater illusion than self empowerment.
There is no greater access to real power, than humility.

Only they who strive for goodness, strive for righteousness, strive for peace, seek prosperity for all, seek happiness for all, seek acceptance for all, seek to uphold and uplift their fellows… are FREE. For only LOVE is free and the path to liberation and choice. And acceptance, kindness, peace, understanding, patience, giving, helping, building up, soothing, caring, humility, service and forgiving, are ALL matters of Love. They who have chosen to strive to do well for all, are the only warriors. For no one in self bondage is a warrior, but a prisoner of darkness. A prisoner fights no war, but is a pawn in another’s war.

But the free man faces the spirit of darkness dwelling in those pawns bound in darkness, and still continues to choose goodness. The free man is the warrior, for daily are they discouraged, condemned, judged, punished, mocked, wounded, stolen from and thrown away… yet before God do they pray for their oppressors to be free honestly in their hearts. There is no greater strength, then the strength of the man or woman who prays for their enemies. There is no greater warrior, then they who choose to love regardless of the lack of love they receive. There is no greater endurance found, than in those who trust in God. That love, is of God. And only God’s love can make men free.

That is why we pray for those who persecute us… for it is THEY in a dark prison, drowned by fear, without choice, while those who do pray are free to walk in the sunlight of God and choose in every moment what they will say or do.

A resentment prayer works regardless of who we call God, what our religious beliefs are, or if we have no spiritual beliefs at all. The wording of such a prayer or meditation is not nearly as important as the intent we are hoping to establish. There are many societies and fellowships who have prayers for resentments and anger towards others. With a little searching, you will find one that works well for you.

Father in Heaven
Please hear my plea and call to you
Not that I would seek for myself
But that I may speak for another
Father, give peace to the lives of my enemies
And to those I resent for their actions
Secure their lives with grace and with love
Allow prosperity and significance to find them
Cast away fear from their bones and blood
Restore the memory of love within them.
For if they knew love and harmony
If they had security and purpose
If they felt peace in all their ways
If they found grace in their hearts
If they were inspired and without worry
How could they be my enemy any longer?
For in these gifts would they prosper
And all around them bare witness
I would myself desire to know them
And to call them brother, or sister
For I would see the work of God in them.
They who would curse, who would punish, who are full of wrath
They who desire destruction and sorrow upon others
They who would cause difficulty and pain and grief
Forgive them Father and reveal Yourself to them
For they are in the darkness of torment
And have found hope only in bitterness
They have not seen or heard Your great Word
Nor have they remembered Your name
So please hear me Father that I bring them to You
For with a moment of Your presence, would they be healed
And with a drop of Your love, would they rejoin Life
Yet in all things, Your will be done Father
