Yes, We Can
To tell the truth… WE CAN
Ya sure we can spend thousand of dollars and hundreds of hours in Therapy…
but why not save the money and time and get honest about who we want and don’t want?
Ya sure we can get dressed up and make ourselves look better than others…
but why not find some confidence instead in what we like and who we already are?
Ya sure we can put on our best face and always try to appear interesting…
but why not just be ourselves and discover who our REAL friends truly are?
Ya sure we can work out, stay in shape, eat right always and never indulge…
but why not get real and admit that none of us decide when our time is up anyway?
Ya sure we can make excuses and blame others for how our life turned out…
but why not learn from our experiences, and DO something about our future?
Ya sure we can hang onto old dogma, rules and principles of self righteousness…
but why not look directly into the mirror for 10 minutes, and see the truth?
Ya sure we can make lots of money and become a big shot at our jobs…
but why not admit that, in the first place, we started working so we would
have money to ENJOY LIFE, not to enjoy work?
Ya sure we can strive for a career and try to mold a “respectable” position…
but why not bust out the tools of our talents we have hidden
in the closet and garage for the past 20 years?
Ya sure we can tell everyone how wrong they are when they are wrong…
but why not find people whose ways are just right in our life already?
Ya sure we can fear letting go of all that we have built over the years…
but why not accept the truth that we would have NEVER built all that
if we would have known how it turned out?
Ya sure starting over is scary…
But why not remember that starting over was our first step to liberation
as a teen? (and it felt great!)
Ya sure we want people to understand us…
But why not just shut up, and realize THEY have to want to?
Ya sure it might be difficult to be honest about sex and intimacy
But why not speak the truths, so that the awesome mates can find us?
Ya sure we all want to be loved,
But why not create love?
We can have the life we want with who we want.
We can look and feel how we like.
We can find amazing people who accept us.
We can be open to spontaneous joys.
We can over come our past.
We can be silly and laugh about ourselves.
We can experience LIFE over Work.
We can be a success at what we LOVE.
We can find friends who share common bonds.
We can restore our lives no matter how tied down they have become.
We can do everything all over, and feel RELIEVED and overjoyed by it.
We can understand others and find understanding people because of it.
We can have the love life and the mates we have dreamed of.
We can create love, and feel love returned by those we give it to.
“I love winners when they cry,
Losers when they try,
Music when it’s good, and Life”
(Tom T. Hall)
And I love you too!
