The World of Worlds
Contradictions of Truth and LiesThere’s a profound exploration of the duality of truth and deception. The poem questions whether absolute truth can be hidden and if a lie can exist without being surrounded by other lies. This theme reflects on the intricate relationship between perception and reality, emphasizing the struggle to discern truth.
Self-Reflection and Inner ConflictThe piece reflects on self-awareness, noting that even amidst contradictions and self-destruction, one retains a sense of identity. The addition of the new lines underscores that these contradictions arise from the subjective experience of individuals, deepening the exploration of internal conflict.
Power and AgencyThe poem critiques the illusion of control over oneself and others. It argues that if one cannot command even their own hand, how can they exert control over anything else? This theme raises questions about personal agency and the nature of power in human relationships.
Collective Responsibility and RebellionUltimately, the poem portrays humanity as complicit in its own subjugation by giving away its power to leaders and masters. It reflects on the idea that rebellion against external forces must begin with recognizing and reclaiming personal agency, emphasizing a collective responsibility for one's actions and choices.

The World of Worlds
It hasn’t always been this way
Before it all
How to forget, was the issue
How to make a life, without knowledge
How to make a channel, without power
How to make a friend, a foe
How to make a story, real
How to make everything perfect, without being perfect.
Can the truth be hidden by they who speak only the truth?
Can a lie be told without lies?
Can a vision be made to hide the vision?
Can a will be made to have no actual self without awareness of no will?
Can a liberated choice be given without choice?
Can the substance of everything be loosed from the substance of everything?
Even in the face of ones own contradictions
Ones own self still recollects it knows itself.
Even in the mire of ones own destruction
Ones choices are devoid of choices.
Yet where does an eternal thing become degraded
Except in the lies of ones own mind?
Where does a beautiful thing become ugly
Except in the will of ones own un-will?
There is not one thing living or dead that can be rebelled against
Except ones own self rebellion against ones own self.
Ask the void you perceive between the earth and the sun to bow to you,
It shall not… and it is nothing but Empty Space to you.
How then can your rebellion do any such thing to any such thing of substance?
Ask your own hand to grow another finger.
It shall not… and it is Your hand on your body.
How then can your rebellion do any such thing to anyone if you cannot command your own hand to do your own will?
Look to the masters of men. See how they command the hands of men to do all sort of beautiful and evil things.
Yet were they born with such powers?
No they were born as you were born.
So then do they control such powers?
No they have nothing more than you have.
And of all these contradictions of experience
Is the World of made-up Worlds formed within
Fools we are… for it is WE who gave them the command of our own hands.
