Our Little Man Who Walks with God
You are always with me, my Son
Where not a day is without
Neither evening is the heart alone
As dreams of what You would be, live on
Six years have your spirit I held
Shall not this grief be complete
In thanksgiving my tears do find
In sorrow lay praise to your home
The father of earth, I am not received
To the Son of my life that you are
Given but a time, in strength you were
And to that moment, beheld your heart
Who is to be forgiven
Of the path best spoken for you?
Is it I that depart from life was life taken?
Was it God that to death was life given?
The man cannot reconcile what is
Nor can the flesh determine grace
So within me always do you live
Where spirit with spirit are we bound
For I tremble in pain of the love trapped in me
Of these hands without cares embracing
Of those moments not given to guidance
Of the gifts unshared, for none may receive
Your Mother and I have great love for you
Our little man who walks with God
And we with you, that we too may be there
Though the earth fails, are we in spirit eternal.
