Exalted
Exalted are they
Who have passed before us
For theirs is the realm of the Spirit
And their life no more toils under the sun
Lift up my heart in joy for our losses
Let not my sorrow forget their freedom
I cried not for them that they were lost
But that I was lost without them
Though the heart of my flesh is hollow
And torn from lack of their presence
More-so is my spirit rejoicing
For my loved ones who found true life
For even in my darkest moments
Are my memories of them sacred
Bringing light and purpose to me
And love they shared is felt deep
Now I know they are with God
And no more shall they taste fear
But advocate before the highest throne
Of us who stand still upon the earth
Let me dream of their new found truth
And the wellness of each of their moments
Watch them soar upon the gates of wisdom
That my heart may smile for them
Let me dwell upon their adventures
And the knowledge they now possess
Let me honour their nearness to God
In Humble awe may it be considered
Exalted are they
Who have passed before us
For the least of them in heaven
Is greater than the greatest of us on earth
