Time
Time as a Teacher Life unfolds in ever-changing chapters, teaching endurance, growth, and adaptation to those who embrace the lessons of experience.
The Limits of Human Control Neither strength, intellect, nor will can dictate time’s course; only humility and spiritual connection bring true strength and guidance.
The Dangers of Regret and Anxiety Clinging to past wounds or obsessing over the future blinds us to joy, love, and the blessings that exist in the present.
Faith and Gratitude as Anchors The young look forward, the old look back, but those who walk in today’s light find both peace in the past and hope for the future.

Time
Hold the moment with care
Give heart to every breath
Observe the blessing of life
Give thanks for our experiences
For it is not God nor goodness
That brings forth our troubled days
But ourselves and our circumstance do
As all things move the pendulum of life
And what was there is here again
Endurance of strife is a warrior path
Fought not by muscle and will
Nor can the intellect sway a course
Neither want nor desire overcome
The humble spirit finds greater strength
Reaching into the heavens for light
Knowing alone is as a fools hope
As the proud who fell taught well
While the simple prayer brings power
How interesting are our chapters
How differentiated they all are
How quickly they end without warning
And a new story takes root in our lives
Look not to the future for answers
Of former matters not overcome
As none can say tomorrow’s gift
Nor hold to the past for assurance
Of the futures security
As all things change around us
That we must adapt to, in order to grow
What can I say of my youth
That is relevant today?
Unless I am trapped in a fear
Or mired down in resentment
Of former things I will not let go?
What of today when I live in the past?
Can I see joy while I suffer my youth?
Who feels love while they feel anger?
Who enjoys the good during unrest?
What of today when all is tomorrow?
I have already forsaken the present!
Missing gifts laid at my very feet
While I look ahead and not around
A young man counts his days to the
Beginning
An old man counts his days to the
End
But he who lives in the light of today
Is he who looks back with gratitude
And he who looks forward with faith
