The Forest and the Trees
The elder does not speak
Before the will of fools
Neither does he correct
The chosen path thereof
As the need to be right
And to make others wrong
Sets forth a grave error
And he instructed becomes unjust
So that light becomes dark
And dark consumes truth
Both depart in nonsense
Of a single errant desire
Are they in their pride achieved?
Are they in the hearing redeemed?
Has the effort made well the matter?
Or has the matter made unwell both?
These now I do not speak
That they be heard by children of wrath
But rather the sound is known intuitively
By he who hears his own heart
Differences makes no difference
And indifference the same
While judgement harms the judge
Making light the accused of guilt
Separation only divides the separator
And he who sees division before him
Has made witness of his own thoughts
While believing he knows another
Belief is for the believer
As all do trust their own desires
Yet he who only believes he believes
Exposes his disbelief in desire of you
Who has eyes to see
The madness of men?
As each sees the other wrong
Creating greater idols of himself!
Or who can witness
The power behind the false vision?
As each presents their way
Knowing not it isn’t at all!
These now I speak for the ears of all
As foolishness is within everyone
And our hearts we can see at will
Pray always our own eyes do open
A brother who loves a brother
Has a brother that cannot be taken
And a brother who loves an enemy
Has a brother that cannot be taken
A brother who hates a brother
Makes himself an orphan of man
And a brother who hates himself
Has become blind to his brothers love
A brother will know your best spirit
While the jealous heart scorns it
And he who sets himself above
Knows not even himself
A brother will serve his family
Proving before all heaven his worth
And he who is made to serve pride
Is greater than his own master
Into the fold of space not forgot
That the hidden may be revealed
The one before us is the one within us
And the spirit within is also without
To what end are the thoughts?
To what purpose do they serve?
This awakening will be exposed
When the exposed are awakened
