Though we’ve lost some manners
Though we’ve become ungrateful
Though we act entitled
Keep helping
Though some resent your grace
Though some ignore your spirit
Though some accuse of wrongs
Keep helping
Even when it breaks your heart
Even when it seems futile
Even when there is no reward
For we help not that we be praised
As by definition it is for another
For we help not that we may profit
As by purpose it profits others
For we help not to control results
As by design the outcomes are Gods
In this short life of rain and shine
Does it fall on all and warm all
And in this life of win and lose
Each and every one will experience
Service to another done only in love
Is service to God and the love of God
While service to another to be known
Is service to self and love of self
Sacrifice of giving without seeking
Is rewarded and honoured by God
While sacrifice for praise
Is rewarded by false pride alone
Do nothing for the hope of glory
Say nothing that you be respected
Give nothing that others may see
Act for no other reason than love
What we do in the humility of love
Gives more to us than we gave
Making true our intent from spirit
Rather than the intent of flesh
Yet when another helps us
Speak loudly of their love
For in this we share in Gods voice
And in this have we also given love
Acknowledge the spirit of God in them
Honor what is Holy
For care of one to another
Is the highest wisdom of man
Fear not the loss of what you give
As all will lose and all will gain
Fear not the vanity of the unthankful
As all have not yet witnessed God
Many will oppose what is good
Some will call it naïveté
Others will judge to hide their shame
But God accounts for it all
The path of love is a crown on your head
An act of love is a jewel on your crown
Every choice to follow God’s example
Is a kingdom for your throne
Endure this temporary world
In the service of all life
For the next life is eternal
And they who serve this life
Are the kings of the eternal universe
Called the Children of God
