Into the Light
Greater is a gift from God
Than a loss from man
For what is lost by tens
Is replenished by hundreds
And what is taken by greed
Is replaced by grace most valuable
As none who seek riches
That they may take comfort in them
Do find the riches they seek
But he who seeks righteousness
Finds both justice & wealth
Not only of flesh but also of spirit
For even he of dual mind
Humbly acknowledging his error
Is given direction back to life
While he of set mind
Proud of his self labours
Discovers his wayward step late
This that we fear not even our fault
For into darkness did we long walk
And out of darkness another journey
Whereas each day gives new promise
Revealing new growth of spirit
Towards the sunlight of God we travel
With patience as our staff
Are we given eyes to see progress
Even in the midst of trials
For what was trivial once going in
Becomes knowledge and wisdom
As we slowly make our way out
With God as our director
Even that of no value to man
Becomes as a jewel in the eye
For pride blinds us of the obvious
Overlooking danger and success
Unable to see the greater worth at all
With God as our director
Are our steps made clear
And the fruit of each moment
Is sweet even to the wounded
So too is the weight of our former self
Unburdened from us with each step
As all the world made hard cost
Of every self choice we do make
Does all of God make reward
Of every effort towards righteousness
For this gift is grace and love
Which is found only in the hand of God
Each and every good thing
Does come from God who made life
And each and every difficult thing
Does come from the frustration of self
So that man who is flesh and spirit
Must choose where their reliance is
For the greatness of God is to love
That we as children do eat and play
And prosper and overcome all things
And the love of God does heal
For all who brings their losses
To their Creator and Guardian
As man will always toil under the sun
But the spirit of man may be free
And man will choose from ignorance
But the spirit of God reveals the path
That our choice is not in vain
To any and all who rely on God
