Gratitude of the Living Dog
The Power of Transformation True change is not achieved through personal merit, strength, or intelligence but through divine intervention. God turns weakness into strength, ignorance into wisdom, and vanity into purpose.
The Unpredictability of Redemption No one can determine who will rise or fall, for God’s love reaches all. The righteous sow seeds, but it is God who grants growth, giving even the fallen a chance to rise if they choose.
The Continuity of Faith and Labor Spiritual growth is a shared effort across generations. Those who labored before us paved the way, and we, in turn, continue shedding falsehoods and seeking truth.
Gratitude for Life and Light The journey from darkness to light is not just a transformation but a fulfillment of God’s promise. To be alive in His love is greater than any worldly status, for even a living dog is better than a dead lion.

Gratitude of the Living Dog
The love of God is a mystery to man
For He lifts up the fallen
And brings down the raised
What does it profit us at all
If for our successes
We have no understanding?
If for our failures
We have no understanding?
As those who are world raised
Know not of the love they withhold
Nor aware of the heart of the spirit
As those who are spirit fallen
Know of all the love they withheld
Haunted by awareness of lack of spirit
Who shall walk the 1000 miles
He who in comfort relaxes in peace?
Or he who in sorrow is seeking peace?
By no great genius or strength
Nor worth of character or faith
Have I been blessed by the love of God
For of my enemy has God made bound
Of my weakness has He strengthened
Of my confusion has He made clarity
Of my ignorance God made knowledge
Of my vanity has He made worth
Of my immaturity He made experience
And this not for the glory of men
But for the glory of Truth and Life
And for the evidence of God and faith
That by one who was dead
Yet walking still in flesh and blood
Would be raised up out of darkness
Into the light of new possibility
That by one who was accursed
Yet ignorant of all self denial
Would be shown truth and choice
That where it was gone, it lived again
That by one who was without love
Yet seeking love I did not give
Would be shown love and acceptance
That where it was dead, grew again
Who can say
What soul will rise or fall?
For the power of God visited me suddenly
Transforming me in an instant
Who can say this one is good
And that one is bad?
For the love of God is for all
The will of God for them, we know not
Who has understanding of such
But that very God who awakens
And who also puts to sleep
Except those who also have been shown?
For the righteous have done their work
Scattering the seed as designed
But the fallen are made to rise
If they so choose
That the harvest is made well for all
As I too benefit greatly
From those who labored before me
They who planted, they who weeded
That we now may pluck the fruit
As it was God who brought
The sun and rain
And God who made the seed
And God who made the growth
Known to they before us who strived
Known now to us that we may continue
In this labor of shedding lies
And this journey to great light
How grateful I am in this gift
For it is a promise fulfilled
And a love of which cannot be denied
Greater yet – it is life itself
Where once I was bound in darkness
Now do I find my chains broken
As another with their lamp
Guides the way out – to the light of God
Better to be a Living Dog, Than a dead Lion.
