Envy

Beware the pit of the envious
For their thirst cannot be quenched
And their lust cannot be answered
Their desire is as a vacuum
Imploding in self-annihilation

Who can hold what is in another’s hand?
Can the heart of the righteous
Be taken from them by the wicked?
Can the gracious jewel of a soul
Be purchased by the malice of an imposter?

They who dwell with their heart of envy
Rob themselves of all that they have
Turning it all into nothingness
While dreaming of their jealous rage
To curse God for His gifts to another

How long shall they who hate
The God of life and all giving, live?
Do they not see their folly?
Will they not instead be given over to their god?
That very one who plots to take just as they do!

And as witness to the hatred within them
Do they who have what the envious desire
Find given also to them the enemies chest
Of their oppressors purpose and possessions
As the envious themselves rebuked it

Again, even when given to
Do the jealous find no comfort
As all that anyone else has, they want
And all that they posses is not enough
Nor shall it ever be

For none can be happy
With anything that is not truly theirs
Nor shall they know themselves anymore
For each and every instant & thing they covet
Which belongs to another

Turn away from all envy
Flee from all want of your neighbour
As the theft of earthly things shall perish
But the jaded heart of envy
Is their life before all

So much so
That even upon the lesson of the grave
Shall the jealous find no peace
For theirs had been anger and bitterness
Wrath and isolation followed them always

Let us therefore praise God
For all He has given to our brothers
And bless them for their talents
That they may find good use of them
And find gratitude in their blessings

Let us praise God
For all He has given to us
And Bless God for His gifts to us
Asking always for guidance of their use
That it may be well with our soul

Let us protect our neighbours life
And all that is in our neighbours hand
That he may gain a trusted brother
Who shares honour and peace with him
So that we both may serve in times of need

Let us celebrate and bless all that is good
Wether that good be given to us
Or that goodness is given to another
As the witness of it itself is a treasure
And to cherish blessings is eternal life

For when we love the God of Life
And the Giver of all things
Are we become the receiver of all things
And the inheritors of all that truly is
Forever and ever
