Truth is but a mystery to the wicked
For to the humble heart it is revealed
A friend who is a brother is a goodness
Wether they both be lost
For there can be no sharing of love’s bond
Without the result of peaceful growth
A friend who is an enemy is rotteness
His words are snares and traps
That he would lie a care for another
But for that they would both fall together
No man can draw near to God
And remain sick in his soul
For the nearness of God
Is clarity to the Spirit
Serenity to the heart
And strength to the body
And he who speaks of his own righteousness
Before man and God
Does so to conceal his secret desire
But he who does desire the nearness of God
Is both friend to himself and to others
Lifting up his brothers in honest care
And sets no pitfalls even to his enemies
For the one who finds the spirit of Life
Knows even the dead are in God’s hands
Many will say this is good and this is evil
And in the saying are they proving only death
For a teaching of fear and punishment
Is a lesson of bondage disguised as pure
Whereas each one alone discovers what they wish
And in it reveals their own hearts intent
Life was made for life
Death was made for death
And he who fears the giver of life
Has been deceived
By he who is the giver of death
The giver of life gave life that there be growth
Where all things that are good instruct us all
Opening themselves up to us that we may see
Revealing themselves that we may experience
Endearing themselves that we may become wise
The giver of death gives fearful discipline
Where all things that are terrible instruct us all
Opening themselves up to our shame
Revealing their law that we conform and obey
Enforcing punishment that we may become nothing
The words of God hold a message for both
That we may divine the hearts of men
And no such darkness can comprehend it
For to the wicked do they become judgment
Where brother judges brother and himself
As to who is worthy of life and who is not
And what is worthy of life and what is not
And being that not one can stand
Before his own judgment
Does he become an evil secret to himself
Whose wrath pours out to all others
To hide his own powerlessness
But to the humble do they become liberation
Where brother loves another brother
Seeking to free all others from death
Sharing what has been given
And being that all can stand healed
Before the freedom of peaceful experience
Does he become an open book
Who’s life pours out to all others
That all may grow in wonderment of God
Look not with the eyes of men
To see the realm of the Spirit
Whereby do pulpits fill with controlling men
Nor with the heart of flesh
To understand the nature of Life
Whereby do others require your compliance
Not even with the mind or will of man
To discern or discovery anew
Whereby we deceive ourselves
Who can reveal to himself
What he already doesn’t know?
Neither can another reveal anything at all
Except that God has sent message
But seek as a child who knows not a thing
With fearless curiosity and questions
That the source of all Life may answer
And witness to oneself our limits
That we remain not self deceived with pride
Nor that we measure against any other
Cementing our powerless pride in denial
But in all humility say “I do not know”
In all desire do tend to love
As not one has improved by the hand of man
Nor will our want of another make them whole
But the essence of love and care is from God
And the gift of it heals all
