Blessings of the Day
My wife spoke of wisdom today
And experience of great value
My brother shared his heart
My sister shared her journey
An uncle sent a message of family
A father sent word of his adventure
My friend shared a miracle he had
Another friend shared his growth
Another man trusted me
With his hurts and failings today
And old friend reached out for healing
Another old friend reached out for joy
A grandson wanted to see me today
A son wanted to share a laugh
A friend shared his music with me
Another shared his ideas about life
And still in the late of night
A lifelong friend shared his experience and deep thoughts
Every single day Great and wonderful things happen when I look not to the physical world for comfort or answers, but to the emotional and connected world of our fellows. When I look with the eyes of the spirit instead of the eyes of the body’s wants and needs, I find greater wants and needs being cared for by life itself feeding me wisdom, understanding, compassion, togetherness, peace, love, joy and long suffering which binds two in selfless humanity.
This is what I mean when I say – I listen to my friends. For who is put in my life each day always has a priceless and profound lesson, wether it be a good one or a bad one… always is it of more value than rubies and greater than I myself can comprehend.
Every one of these events just today ( and there were many more) are gifts and given for the betterment of all our lives and spirits. These things are easily overlooked when I am mired down in bills and money and logistics and requirements and human needs. Though this human life is important also and I am responsible for it… the greater life is that of the spirit of us.
With these blessings of the day, may I remember tomorrow to seek with new eyes once again, and to see what cannot be seen when I am stuck in self.
