Humble Faith
Greeting to all who by way of grace may have found their way to these humbles pages devoted to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Humble, I say humble, for as a servant of Christ, humility is the companion for which I walk this path into salvation and redemption of my former ways. Humility has often been given a bad image, for we humans tend to consider humility and humiliation to be the very same thing, but they are not one in the same. Everyone knows what humiliation is.
Humility is not about being lower than we are, nor is about being higher than we are, nor is it about any image or perspective we might have of who we are. Instead, humility is whatever the truth is, in any given thing. Humility is the simple truth. Humility is what we can give to our selves, if indeed we can be open and honest with ourselves about ourselves. For many of us, we require the instruction and guidance of our Father in Heaven to reveal these things to us, for our pride and our self senses stand in the way of humility.
If I say to myself, I am the best composer ever, I would be lying and showing no humility, and if I say to myself that I am the worst composer ever, I would be lying and showing no humility. If I say I love composing and I am pretty good at it, I would be saying the truth, and showing humility in my words.
So, when I come to these pages, and reveal, that of myself I have been to the pits of spiritual hell, that I have darkened my own soul and turned away from righteousness, I am not exaggerating or puffing up the negative, but revealing the truth of the path I took as a rebel on the earth. Before the throne of God did I callously deny the Gifts of Life that were presented to me, seeking instead to proclaim myself as righteous in my own eyes. Telling it is, that even by turning away from righteousness, I would still require to feel “Right” to myself. For deep down inside I still sought acceptance, balance and approval, and gave these things to myself in denial of the truth of my own works and denial of God by my own self-importance. I took the knowledge of God that I did have from my youth, and used such information to benefit myself and not for the edification of my fellows. Yet I would tell myself it was so, in order to hide the truth of my personal will.
The truth of my will and my works, was that I was a thief and a liar, deflecting the grace of God for all onto myself (for your praise) and manipulating the outcomes through twisted words in order to make myself APPEAR more spiritual and righteous than I was. Yet in truth, I was not spiritual or righteous at all, but an acting son of the abyss, doing the will of sin, and embracing the very same power of the enemy of Christ.
So to the good news, for in it is a faithful truth. Our Father, who loved the WHOLE world so much, that He gave His only Begotten Son to us in order that we might be saved, does not wish for even one of us to be lost. Our Lord, so humbled Himself, leaving behind Power, Authority, Heaven and unlimited strength, in order to dwell on this earth as one of US, even to being vulnerable as a baby, with skin and bones and blood and hurts and hungers and pains, so that the plan of Grace to us would be fulfilled as it was promised.
Our God is a Faithful Father, a Gracious Father, and an Everlasting Father who does not turn away from His own Perfection and Promise even though we may turn away from Him. Our Lord, still returns even to us, knocking at the door, bringing with Him light to blot out the darkness, reminding us of the purpose of our lives, in order that we might repent and return to the whole flock. It is said that even the Angels of Heaven rejoice with song when one of us repents of our ways, and humbly reaches out to God and to our Lord. Such things brings tears to my eyes. For it was not of my worth, or worthiness, nor of my works, or righteousness, not even was it of faith or my love that God did come to me and ask “What have you done?”. It was of HIS love, and His instruction and His promise and His purpose and His design and His Grace that He should look to one so lowly as me, and offer once again the choice of Everlasting Life and Peace and Harmony with all things, if I so choose to Join Him. God is the Author and Creator of Humility, for God never turns from the truth, nor does God exaggerate, or mis-lead in any of His Words or Works. His Word (Living forever as His Son, and our King Jesus Christ) shall never fail.
I am living proof, that even the lowly, sick, horrible, diseased of mind and body by the wretchedness of my ways, can and will still be offered the path to righteousness at the time and place of God’s choosing concerning us. Because the Works and Humility and Grace of our Lord and King and Saviour was and is and always will be more than enough to cover all sin, everywhere, and even bring a death to death itself, and an end to the abyss of hell forever more.
