Oceans
I stare out beyond the waters
Of these life passing memories
Tying one to the next
From the first to the last
Prayers were said at waters edge
Recall the nights dark pleading life
Of they who had suffered long
How God was often found there
Hopes were formed on sandy shores
Wonderment of future days
As our Moon glistened far and bright
Were my tears brought down to earth
Dreams I made there on the rock
While sounds of waves rolled by
Knowing them before me lost
Fearing what befall the years ahead
Acceptance came with deep heart
Without a soul nearby for strength
But not alone all alone I was
For here my spirit touched God
Steps and steps along the tide
To stop and stare again
With sounds of ancient memories
Filling all my sacred sense
How vast you are oh oceans
How every drop accounted
To pour my sorrows and my faith
That they may be well received
Before me is an endless unknown
Stretching far beyond my sight
Behind me all the world aglow
In chaos of man’s regretful path
My love I thought of you each time
From childhood until now
As I was torn right from the start
Missing she who is my flesh
To God did I speak often of you
I feared our patient time
That you’d be comforted while apart
As I was mournful before the stars
Everything I brought to God
Of parents and saints and holiness
For lost I was apart from man
And darkened alone without God’s help
There I found my spirits heart
Before the vast expanse of waters
Countless times my feet walked there
As holy ground for the life of time
Now – even now does it bring calm
And calamity also alike
For it flows in and out eternally
Just as my journey too has been
But tied to the first is also the last
Though the last am I yet unaware
Each and every journey was found
To bring our symbol of hope to me – o0o
The waters edge is as a gate
Between two worlds I dwell
So I look and dream and hope and pray
In solitude of the darkness light
Thank you oceans, thank you sea
You brought two greatest friends
The faith of God and hope of her
Kept silently in ocean dreams
