Alas, I Am Man

She seeks the God within,
She seeks the Warrior Soul,
She seeks the Eternal One from the beginning.

In the eyes of every man there lay the path to God.
In his essence there is strength,
In his spirit lay a part of the eternal.

Some men have abandoned their heritage for a trinket,
Some have lost the battle too many times,
Some are no longer aware of eternity.

In the restless hours I remember my past,
Where is my God now?
Where is my courage?
Where has my divinity gone?

For multitudes of multitudes and division of division
I am laid waste.
The spirit remembers,
But the body is broken.
The soul desires unity,
But the body seeks it’s own blood.

In the days of the past there were so few!
How they knew and remembered their peace,
How they cherished and sought their integrity.
How they slipped away through time to now.

Now children upon children do not know themselves.
Now visions and fog are all that remain.
Now wholeness is shattered to billions,
Now the flesh has the stronger foothold.

She seeks the God, and sees a piece in all men.
She sees the eyes of one who remembers.
She sees the pain of his sorrow and hollowness.
She seeks the unity to heal.

She seeks the warrior soul, now he is tired,
She sees the insanity of division has crippled him.
She brings water to comfort his corpse,
She shares blood to revive him.

She speaks to the Eternal One.
His ears are clogged with dirt from centuries.
She wonders of her efforts.
Is here another forgotten?

Alas, I am man, the bones have outlived me.
Alas, I am man, the soul rebukes its host.
Alas, I am man.
